4 Muffin Farms staff in court for alleged stealing

Four (4) workers of Muffin Farms, a livestock agribusiness company in Obuasi are currently before the Obuasi circuit court presided over by Justice Mark Tairima Diboro for stealing an undisclosed amount from the company.

The accused persons are Alex Degbadzor the manager of the company, Victoria Owusu Konadu the sales manager, Emmanuel Tabiese the meat-cutting officer and Percy Gyan ( at large) the IT officer in charge of CCTV. They have been charged with two counts of conspiracy to steal and stealing.

Facts
Giving his evidence, the Principal witness of the case , Edward Akwasi Akuoko who is also the Chief Executive officer of Muffin Farms said the four were arrested after they connived to steal from the company.

According to him, their mode of operation was using their personal momo account to receive payments meant for the purchase of products from the company instead of the official company’s account.

He said they developed a clandestine way of delivering the said products/ items to the customers without the knowledge of the rest of the staff and the CEO.

He said when he got wind of their nefarious activities through the CCTV camera, he immediately caused their arrest.

Mr. Akuoko explained that the suspects pleaded guilty when they wrote their statements at the police station necessitating the court action.

The case has however been adjourned to Thursday,25th July, 2024 for further cross-examination of the plaintiff.
