Man, 33 in court over alleged police recruitment scam

A 33-year-old unemployed man who allegedly collected GHC65,739 cedis under the guise of recruiting two people into the Ghana Police Service has appeared in court for fraud. Emmanuel Ofori Ansong is being held on a charge of defrauding by false pretences. Ansong, who had no legal representation, pleaded not guilty before the Dansoman Circuit Court.

An Accra Circuit Court has ordered the arrest of a 42-year-old retired Military Officer accused of defrauding some people of GH₵194,500.00. Mr Daniel Asiedu is accused of collecting GH₵194,500.00 under the pretext of enlisting the youth in security services but failed.
