A lawyer sneaking phones or drugs to their clients in prison would make for a good high stakes scene in a tv show, but what actual lawyer would think to try something like that? Daniel Dale, that’s who! ABA Journal has coverage: Daniel Sidney Dale, 49, of Terry, Mississippi, has been charged with two counts of conspiracy and three counts of introducing contraband into the facility.
Hinds was arrested after video showed him allegedly giving contraband to an inmate, according to WLBT.
The contraband include cell phones and chargers, cigarettes, a scale and what may have been marijuana. As it stands, it looks like two inmates were involved in the plan. One of the three should have focused a little harder on the “how do we avoid getting caught by the cameras?” part of the scheme. Hindsight is 20/20 for sure, but the point remains.
Dale is being held on $75,000 bond. Unless there are some good samaritans out there, Mr. Dale best make himself at home. Maybe make a phone call — but I suggest using the phones the prison provides.
